The Mall and Barberino Outlet Village are therefore the two centers where a large concentration of brands known all over the world, from the most classical to the most casual, decided to sell their garments to the customers by spending much less than in the store.

Forty minutes is the time needed to reach The Mall, the best known of the above cited two, where a vast amount of shops here will satisfy the urge to shop and saving at least 40% of the full price.

A stop at The Mall and then the rest of the day spent all around the Chianti is what can be comfortably done. Daily Tour Itinerary

Beautiful cities of Etruscan origin and both characterized by a dominant position on the territory surrounding Cortona and Arezzo are located a short distance away (35 km) and it is therefore possible to visit them together in one day.

Cortona. Despite its small size, Cortona has always stood out for its cultural liveliness and an international atmosphere since it became an important center for archaeological research in the 18th century thanks to the “Etruscan Academy” and the “Etruscan Museum”, both founded in 1728. More recently Cortona has returned to the international limelight thanks to the novel by the Californian writer Frances Mayes “Under the Tuscan Sun” which is set there as well as the film that was based on it.

Arezzo. Arezzo, the provincial capital and famous for the production of fine jewelry, was the birthplace of the Benedictine Guido Monaco or Guido d’Arezzo, inventor in the 11th century of musical notes, of Petrarch, Giorgio Vasari and Pietro Aretino while a great artist and mathematician like Piero della Francesca left his masterpiece in this city. This is the extraordinary cycle of Renaissance frescoes “The Legend of the True Cross”, considered a milestone in the history of universal art. Its very well preserved medieval and Renaissance historic center was immortalized by Roberto Benigni in the famous film “Life is beautiful”, which won an Oscar in 1999.

Bolghieri. The itinerary can only start from the famous boulevard of Bolgheri, made famous by the verses of Giosuè Carducci in the poem “Davanti a San Guido”; the avenue, bordered by two rows of centuries-old cypress trees and almost six kilometers long, leads, in a setting of poignant beauty, the village which is accessed through the ancient castle, which stands at the entrance. Here there are numerous taverns and restaurants that offer typical dishes of the local cuisine: spelled soup, ribollita, cabbage soup black, pappardelle al colombaccio, pecorino cheeses and locally produced cured meats.

Castagneto Carducci. After two steps in the village, you can resume your journey along the Wine Road that leads to the town of Castagneto Carducci. Here, in the eyes of the traveler, the beauty of the territory appears in all its entirety. You will be impressed by the regularity of the vineyards, bordered by maritime pines and cypresses. From these lands come the grapes of the cellars which, together with Sassicaia, have made this part of Tuscany famous in the world. The Tenuta dell’Ornellaia (where Masseto, the great merlot and the Ornellaia are produced) is the first to come across and, immediately after, the “boutique cellar” Le Macchiole. Further towards the sea you can see the largest of the companies in the Bolgheri area, the Guado al Tasso degli Antinori estate.

Chianti. Chianti offers a unique landscape, with green, gentle hills covered with wide fields of vineyards and olive groves, small stone villages, characteristic parishes and countryside homes in stone. Historically, the Chianti wine region was a small area, which included only the towns of Radda in Chianti, Castellina in Chianti and Gaiole in Chianti. These towns all represent the area of wine production called “Chianti Classico” (which is recognizable by the Gallo Nero, or Black Rooster logo). If you love wine, Tuscany offers the opportunity to taste prestigious labels and great vintages combined with other local specialities that will also delight your palate.

The Mall. The Mall Firenze is a super high-end boutique outlet not far from Florence that features only the best luxury brands such as Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Givenchy, Jimmy Choo, Fendi, Valentino, Ferragamo and many more. Daily Tour Itinerary

Orvieto. Orvieto is about an hour and a half’s drive from Florence and it is a jewel of medieval architecture and structure, a real plunge into remote times and traditions. Once an important Etruscan centre, it was later annexed to Rome and then flourished in the Middle Ages, thanks to the presence of the popes. We will be driving along the motorway where we will admire the gently rolling hills of the countryside and the unique and impressive position Orvieto stands from: the top of a vertical tuft hill. Once in town, we will be visiting the Duomo with its incomparable gilded and colorful façade decorated with sculptures and mosaics. The interior hosts many masterpieces: frescoes by Fra Angelico and the Last Judgement by Luca Signorelli.

One of the most impressive traces of papal presence is the so called “St Patrick’s well”, a spectacular well built by Clement VII during the sack of Rome in 1527 to provide water to the city of Rome in case of a dramatic attack.  But perhaps the most interesting aspect of Orvieto is its array of picturesque narrow lanes, its small shops of handicrafts and typical foodstuffs. Not to mention the restaurants serving delicious traditional dishes accompanied by the town’s highly prized white wine, the famous “Orvieto” wine.

Civita di Bagnoregio. After lunch we can continue our tour with a visit to the outstanding Civita di Bagnoregio, also called the dying town, as it is currently inhabited by about a dozen of old natives. It has a dramatic position on top of a plateau of volcanic tuft overlooking the river Tiber valley and it is only reachable by a pedestrian bridge crossing the impressive valley that was built in 1965.
